Dani was amazing, I didn’t know where to start but she guided me through with such kindness, patience and compassion. Lindsey was friendly and helpful when I went to the office or when we spoke on the phone. After the funeral, people said how lovely everyone involved was and how impressed they were with Gascoigne’s. I would just like to say how wonderful, caring and supportive Jeff, Lesley and the team at Gascoignes have been to our family since taking care of my wonderful mum Sheila Richardson, until the day of her funeral. You have held our hands throughout this sad time and looked after our mum with such dignity and love. We all can,t thank you enough for being there for us. I know alot was decided for already due to mum being on a funeral plan which massively helped us, but on all other decisions, Jeff guided me and my sister Wendy through it all with such compassion and understanding and Lesley was always on the other side of the phone to answer anything that we required or needed help with. The funeral itself could not have gone more perfect for my mum which is the most important thing. Thank you to all the team for not just looking after our beautiful mum, but also the whole family.

Embarking on organising a funeral for the first time in my life was a very daunting and anxious prospect. From the very first contact with A.J. Gascoigne much of those initial feelings were greatly reduced. A very professional, person centred and sympathetic approach was experienced. All employees were brilliant but I must give huge thanks to John Stoddart. John's laidback, reassuring approach, combined with his willingness to answer any question and act on my behalf at times was hugely appreciated. Thank you to everyone at A.J. Thank you to Jeff and Lesley for their kindness and support at such a difficult time for myself and my daughters and for helping us to put together a memorable send-off for my mum which I hope did her proud. Jeff's dad Alan had handled my dad's funeral back in 2002 and it was an easy choice to return to the Gascoigne family. This time, for my mum, a repatriation back to the North East was involved and this was organised smoothly and efficiently by Jeff. Nothing was too much trouble and Jeff or Lesley were always on the end of the phone for me long distance and then there to support me at Woodhorn. Sorry it’s taken some time to post this review, my mam passed away in July this year. One of her wishes was to have her funeral with Gascoigne as it’s a family tradition and is what she did for her mam and dad (my grandparents).Jeff came to visit me and my sister and he was very sympathetic towards us and as we don’t have a lot of money he helped us plan her funeral within a budget we agreed on.The funeral service was lovely, it was a sad but beautiful send off for my mam and I’m pretty sure she would have been proud of us for following her wishes.

Jeff and Lesley Gascoigne and team helped me organise my mums funeral with the utmost dignity and compassion. I wouldn't have chose anyone else. They guided me to make my decisions at such a distraught time. I also opted to have the wake back at theirs which had an amazing buffet in a warm welcoming atmosphere. I know I did right by my mum because we were both looked after from beginning till end . Can't recommend these guys enough.

Jeff, Lesley and the team have been exceptional when supporting our family throughout my father' s funeral arrangements. Every detail of events was discussed with us and nothing was a problem. Bill and other colleagues showed the greatest respect throughout the funeral morning and gave guidance and much needed support to the younger pallbearers. I have known the Gascoigne family for many years, when my Mother died in 2008, Alan and his staff took over the Funeral arrangements for me. Everything went very well and after the service and cremation we had a lovely buffet up at Woodhorn. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the mourners were catered for extremely well. I cannot fault them in any way, the compassion and help we were given was marvellous. Alan, Bill and the staff were discreet and so thoughtful. I would recommend their service to anyone. I wish Geoff all the best in the business.
